Whether you prefer to traverse the gentle waterways of the estuary in a kayak or wish to simply relax on a beautiful beach, our resort offers water fun for everyone. Estero Bay is home to a huge variety of wildlife, including Dolphins and Manatees, as well as endangered species leatherback, green and hawksbill turtles, and Loggerhead sea turtles (southwest Florida's most common turtle). You may even see Dolphins leaping in the wake behind your boat, if you time it just right! Please note, wildlife on the Florida Gulf Coast are protected. Access to certain areas of the island may be limited during nesting seasons. Guests are asked to please respect these habitats to ensure the safety of nesting grounds.
Big Hickory Island Beach
Hop aboard our water taxi for an enjoyable 15-minute ride to the private beach on Big Hickory Island. White soft sand and the brilliantly colored Gulf of Mexico create a quiet, restful haven with plenty of open chairs and umbrellas for those looking to relax. The island is a great refuge for building old-fashioned sand castles with the family, or just walking along the beautiful shoreline.
To help preserve the natural Florida setting, there are no lifeguards or snack bars at the beach, so plan to stop by the resort's Cool Beans coffee bar to reserve a cooler packed with snacks and refreshments.. Towels may be obtained from the Poolside Recreation Desk.
